Anyone stayed at a crowne plaza?

Has anyone stayed at any of the crowne plazas and done an upgrade on arrival for the club lounge access? How much did it cost? I mean staying in a regular room but just adding lounge access rather than having a club room? Cannot get a reply to my email and nobody answers phone! Looking at Newcastle in particular. If anyone also know what size the “double” beds are in the standard family rooms that would be great too. Are they big doubles like king size or just normal size doubles? I realise this is a niche question but not sure how else to maybe get answers! TIA

Double beds in Crowne Plaza's are usually standard doubles, especially in the UK.
No idea about upgrading to include Club Lounge access as I have never done this as a standalone, in fact I wasn't aware you could
