I am going to a play at the kings theatre but the following day would like to visit Kelvingrove art gallery. can anyone suggest nice a hotel that would work for these two destinations? Ideally with parking??

City centre hotels aren't great for parking. There are a cluster of premier inns HIX and Travelodges around the city.
Depending on budget there are some other options.
There used to be some parking directly at the Hilton by Kingston Bridge otherwise there are municipal carparks close to the Dakota, Doubletree by Cambridge St and the Moxy by High St, where Duke St carpark is secure and probably the cheapest overnight but further from where you want to be.
Slightly further out but still reasonably convenient for both venues is the Ibis budget at Springfield Quey which does have parking.
There are a cluster of hotels around the SECC again which is pretty convenient. Not sure about parking at most but there is open air and a multistory at SECC. The Campanile has its own free parking but was getting pretty run down the last time I stayed.

Further out there is a Premier inn and Village hotel at Pacific Quey with parking and I think there is parking at the Premier Inn by the Nautical college.
