U.K. with teens

Looking for recommendations for a week in the U.K. that will tick all our boxes:
Near beaches, coast walks, nice pubs ideally walkable from the accommodation so we're not always in the car, good places to eat (for me and Dh, although the dcs also like a bit of bodyboarding and eating out)
An interesting city / something a bit more vibrant for the teenagers (ds18 plus possibility his gf and ds15) for a day trip or two
We're in the midlands so could go in any direction really. We've holidayed in Dorset, lots of Wales, Suffolk and Norfolk so would like to go somewhere different. I thought maybe Somerset for Bristol?

Maybe Scarborough or just outside. It’s an excellent area for bodyboarding and just 50 mins to York on the train. On your doorstep, there’s North Yorkshire Water Park which has a giant inflatable assault course and several coastal walks E.g. along to Cayton Bay and Filey.

Tynemouth or Whitley Bay gives you Newcastle to go at using the metro. Beaches are lovely.

We've opted for mid Devon - converted stable has a pool and sauna, 30 mins from the coast for bodyboarding in Bude / Croyde etc., day out in Exeter, bit of Dartmoor walking and because we're inland the town has a bit more - cinema, escape room etc if the weather is crappy. Any suggestions for the area would be much appreciated.
