Brighton

What's Brighton like these days for a short break?

Has it gone to the dogs like a lot of places or is it still lovely?

It's been an abundance of moons since I've been.

I don't think it's gone downhill. There are still buildings which look run down and uncared for, and some even somewhat seedy. But then that's been the case in Brighton for as long as I can remember.

Better than it was in the 70s and 80s; much the same as it has been for the past 20 years, would be my verdict.

I have a lot of affection for the old place :)

Brighton is lovely.

Loads of places to eat and drink. I love staying at The Grand.

I know Brighton very well, still popular with visitors, but it’s a very expensive option for a coastal break, bars and restaurants think London prices even donuts on the Pier are a stupid price now.

Personally I think Brighton has gone downhill tbh, streets seemed very dirty, sadly lots of homeless sleepers etc last time we stayed in Brighton, ironically just around the corner from The Grand Hotel.

Would we go back to Brighton? No, I don’t think we would. There are better options for a cheaper seaside holiday.

I’ve never liked Brighton, tacky, bad beach, crowded. It’s not as gone to the dogs as some coastal places but….

partly because I live near gorgeous deserted sandy beaches….
