Question regarding points

Looking at getting a credit card that gives me 60,000 points which can be transferred to a number of airline groups. If we transferred them to Emirates is there a way that I can convert existing Economy Class tickets to Dubai into Premium Economy tickets?

I use a Virgin credit card which gives me points. I recently paid for a Premium Economy seat to Florida by paying £550 plus 50000 points. I don’t know if that helps? Virgin won’t let you use points if you are changing planes! I simply go on their website and click that I want to use points and the options come up.
