Bath thermae spa

We are planning a trip to Bath and want to book the thermae spa but notice it says over 16s only. My DD is 13 nearly 14 and would love it. Does anyone know if it’s worth booking or will they demand proof of age? She is very sensible so won’t be ruining anyone else’s experience!

I would say no. It’s a very grown up atmosphere. There is a lot of VERY heavy petting going on in the outside pool on the roof!

Well, no, because it’s an adult venue. I would assume they wouldn’t let her in (and wouldn’t refund you as you’d booked in contravention of their Ts & Cs). They presumably aren’t insured to have minors there, and they’re charging people princely sums to go to an adult-only venue. Why would you?

They do ask for proof of age - I took DD for her 16th birthday treat and I took her passport which was scrutinised thoroughly.

No it's over 16s for a reason.

Is there??😲
I've never noticed that!

Why is your 13 yr old special? You think she's sensible, but presumably not many 13 yr olds would be dive bombing all over the place, so why should you get to sneak her in but nobody else can.

I'm not a Rules iz Rules person, but FFS if something is adult only, respect it.

Thanks for the replies.
We won’t book it in that case.
One of the reviews mentioned their 14 year old son loving it which was what made me think the rules might not be enforced but clearly they are!

I think you can take younger children to the Cross Bath - maybe that is what the review meant?

Dogmatix34 · 04/02/2024 11:38

Yes I saw that and will try to book it but the review mentioned the open air pool at the top. Is the Cross bath worth it does anyone know?

I took mine to the Cross bath at 14. It was a lovely sunny day and we enjoyed it. There are lots of other things to do in Bath, such as the Roman baths and museums, lots of nice places to eat to fill up a day.

Save the main spa building for a 16th birthday treat maybe.

Dogmatix34 · 04/02/2024 11:44

Thank you! Will try to book the Cross bath
