Unlimited underground ticket?

About 10 years ago I went to London and we got unlimited underground tickets and could use the tube as much as we wanted all day, is that still a thing? We're taking my son to London for his 9th birthday in January and don't know how the underground works! Also how much is such a ticket? Just so I know in advance

They were day travelcards but they are ending soon. You can just use contactless for the adults and buy an oyster card for the 9 year old, the amount is automatically capped like with a travelcard. I will try and link the amounts below depends what zones you travel in. If the trip is the end of January you would have time to apply for a zip oyster for the 9 year old which will last him until his 11th birthday and give him free travel.
