Devon lunch spot

Hi. Despite my username I'm not Devonian. I need a recommendation for a nice but quick lunch spot. Dropping DD at exeter station on New Year's Eve. And we're then going on to Dorset. Needs to be dog friendly and preferably with a runaround spot for the dog.
Thanks!

Hunters Lodge is on the A35 near Axminster and has a large garden, really easy parking and is dog friendly, with good food. It's not far from the Dorset border so might be a bit further than you wanted to travel before stopping (I think it would be about 40 minutes from Exeter). Alternatively the otter inn near Honiton always used to be nice but is a bit further off the main road.
