I hear the Xmas market is not up to much this year so where else is nice to wander, look at pretty lights and feel xmassy?

It's usually worth a look but tends to be much the same every year.

George street is lovely at this time of the year and definitely pop into the Dome for a drink or just to see the tree. It's beautiful.

I quite enjoyed the Christmas market. In the lower part of the park, there’s some lovely lights decorations, trees lit up etc. The actual market was really crowded when we went (first day) but had some decent stalls as well as all the usual food outlets. It’s worth a wander through.

Thank you both - will definitely do the market and check out other lights etc. Left it too late to get in the Dome - even just a drink! Any alternatives?

Any tickets left for botanic gardens or castle? They both have light shows. You could try princes st gardens first thing in the morning before it gets too busy.

Do the markets in the morning and it's not too crowded. Avoid the £7 "best hot chocolate in Europe" though, not worth it. Take a walk up to the Royal Mile and visit the nice little Christmas shop they have there.

The weather forecast isn't looking great, you might be best to plan some indoor wanderings!

Oh dear looking like it’s going to be a bit damp! Tripadvisor reviews for the market are dreadful apart from glowing one! So I’ll see what it’s like!
