As per title really. Special occasion next year and looking for somewhere for a couple of nights without the offspring. Probably prefer self catered and like a very good bath or a (private) hot tub to soak in. Budget somewhere less than Bells apartments or Crab Manor's private rooms.

Wondering if anybody has any tried and tested places.

Have a look at The Crab and Lobster near Thirsk - some of their rooms/lodges have hot tubs.

I hope they change the water in the sex pond for each guest...

Crab and Lobster is way too expensive sadly. Lovely and we have been before many years ago but it has got ridiculously expensive for the rooms with a private hot tub.

That place looks nice thank you, not sure about the narrow boat but they have lodges too. Weekends seem to be booked well in advance though!

A pool by the kitchen is a little strange! There are Reasons it needs to be close to Leeds. Northumberland is wonderful though.

The Durham Ox in Crayke has just opened a hot tub / spa pool type thing in one of their holiday cottages. I think they offer midweek deals as well if you can make a midweek trip work?

Edit to add i just checked the price and its £425 for bed and breakfast! 😱 So it might be more than you wanted to spend as i imagine the Crab and Lobster is cheaper than that?

Have a look at the Yorkshire Spa retreat. Near Helmsley.

I've booked a lodge with a private hot tub. There's a nice spa on site.

I booked it through a Hays Travel Agent, a self employed.

Paid £560 for Fri-mon for a 2 bed for 4 people.

If you prefer a hotel you could consider Swinton Park. It's really lovely and also has a spa

Rose and Crown in Romaldkirk. No hot tub but the cosiest place ever. DH and I stayed 15 years ago with then 1yo DC1 and still want to go back on our own!

It's just cropped up in a Times list of cosy pubs.

Still no prospect of getting away and staying there on our own (DC1 was not our last).
