Hotel plus camping

Hi

DH and DS1 want to go camping. But disability means that DS2 could not. So we are looking for a camp site with a very nice hotel very nearby (next door if at all possible) so we can eat together but sleep separately.

Looking for Northumberland, North Yorkshire or anywhere in Scotland. (We live in Cumbria).

Any ideas? Google hopeless got this sort of thing.

Would Ds2 manage with a youth hostel? Lots of youth hostels having camping facilities and single or double bedrooms.

A campsite that also has lodges? That might work?

Thanks @Coronationstation - I'll look at that one.

We don't need an accessible room - which makes things easier - we just couldn't camp and ideally I'd want a hotel for the breakfast / not needing to clean two lots of accommodation.

So keen to find specific hotel + camping options rather than lodges/statics + camping.

How much cleaning do you do in a tent and a caravan??
google “hotel with camping” and there’s quite a few come up although they don’t all mention access to the hotel for campers. The west highland way hotel at Milngavie (just north of glasgow) might be an option.

I’ve come across a few pubs/inns which have both rooms and campsite. Could help to narrow your search terms!

The Duke at Clifton, near Banbury does it.

MyHeroesWearPonchos · 18/08/2023 16:25

@Coronationstation Google really doesn't help (which is why you've given me an example of a place which is closed...).

Banbury far outside my search area in my OP too!

It's not closed, it's available on booking.com! Although it's blooming expensive.

Cote Ghyll in North Yorkshire has a youth hostel, cottages and campsite. There is a cafe and shop on site too.

Oh that's a great one @DuringDinnerMints - thanks very much!
