Ideas for other attractions to visit on holiday to Paulton's Park from South West Wales

Thinking of going to Paulton's Park on a short break from South West Wales with DC aged 5 and 8, and tying it in with a visit to another large attraction, any recommendations for somewhere that is roughly en route? Thanks 🙂

Maybe go via Oxford. The natural history museum there is fantastic for that age. Very hands one and free entry too.

Cotswold wildlife park? Geography is terrible but think it's roughly en route. Near to paultons (but not en route) there's moors valley, hilliers gardens, mottisfont national trust l and loads of places in New forest, Winchester science centre is fab.

Lots to do in Bath, Bristol or Cardiff.
And I hear there's a world renowned cathedral in Salisbury 😁

Again that's near but you can stay in new forest for a few days - your kids are perfect age.

Look at sandy balls caravan park. They also have an indoor pool

Paultons is less than an hour away from lots of nice family places. Marwell zoo, new forest wildlife park, the new forest with all the pony's and walks etc.
I live in the same town as paultons and we have lots of nice family restaurants if you want to avoid McDonald's. The towns lovely and has a big 1000 year old historic church and war memorial park with visiting.
I'm sure there are loads of places on the way although it would depend what route you were taking. Bournemouth is less than an hour away and there are several beaches that are even nearer. I would definitely make the most of the surrounding areas if you can.

A number of places mentioned are not what I would call en route, though it depends what route you go!

Paultons is lovely and you've got great ages to enjoy it.

Waves at @fullbloom87 we must be neighbours.
