Last minute recommendations for the weekend

Myself and DD6 unexpectedly need alternative weekend plans from Friday. We're in south Wales and don't mind a 2-3 hour drive, just really want somewhere we can get out and about Saturday/Sunday without spending a fortune (original plan was caravan at the coast). DD is great outdoors, less interested in just wandering around exploring a city, unless we take plenty of food breaks!

Budget?

Centerparcs has availability this weekend for around £500 for three nights.

Have a scout on line around Goodwick / Fishguard - there's a lot of pubs with rooms or B&B's, and you might grab a haggle bargain as well given they won't have anyone else arriving at this stage. Lovely area, nice outdoors and beaches. Breakfast at Castell Henllys is to die for (assuming you have a car). Lots of cheap eats of all varieties too.

Search for a private room on the youth hostels website and see where takes your fancy. Lots of them sell meals now, so you don’t necessarily have to self-cater.

check the weather forecast as it's not looking like great weather for outdoors in some parts this weekend! Haven and Hoseasons have caravans available for £200-300 on various sites.
