Hello! Would be grateful for some recommendations for places to stay in Northumberland with a 4 and 1 yr old! Pref would like close to beach, a decent play park & a pub! Lol. Have looked at caravan parks but not keen based on some of the reviews.... thank you!

There’s quite a lot of holiday homes in alnmouth which is a lovely village with a couple of pubs, chippy and deli shop. It’s right on the beach so handy for popping back if you forget something or one needs a nap or for lunch etc.

Budle Bay Croft or the campsite next door

Bamburgh 100%. I fully believe it's the best beach in the country! It's got a castle, and the beach is so ginormous it doesn't ever feel full. It's got a nice little park, a lovely bakery that does excellent sausage rolls, and a couple of great pubs. You're also close enough to Seahouses for traditional seaside stuff, including boat rides to see the seals.

The Last Kingdom was also partly filmed there so you can dream of Uhtred son of Uhtred.

Seahouses is a good place to base yourself. My children love the arcade there, it also has a small soft play and mini golf. We rented a small house for similar price to a mobile home type caravan. The other places recommended on here are not far away and easy to get to. It's a beautiful place for a holiday.
