First walk - Lakes

I’m going to the lakes tomorrow with no particular plan until Sunday. It’s occurred to me to try a walk. I have no real idea whether I like hill walking, so I’m looking for something easy and short and possibly well-used, as I’ll be on my own. Any ideas for something that will give me a chance to fall in love with the fells? (If I had a reason to buy a Wainwright, that would make me very happy!

Where in the Lakes are you staying? Lots of stunning walks.

I’m heading to Bowness-on-Windermere, coming from the north.

Orrest Head is close to you...it's fairly short but gives you good views across Windermere...Google will bring up details.

Synergy between you both - Orrest Head is described in detail on the Miles Without Stiles website!

I think achieving a view is essential to the project, so it could be a good choice.

Definitely Orrest Head, the entrance is opposite the Natwest by Windermere train station. It's paved and an easy walk but amazing views.
