Staycation

I'm looking for recommendations for a UK staycation with an 18 month old?

I was thinking a cottage/lodge in the Lake District or Yorkshire and maybe some city breaks; Birmingham, London, Liverpool/Chester.

If anyone could recommend accommodation where we can still stay up after baby has gone to bed?

TIA mumsnetters

This may be controversial, but if when my daughter was small I would let her fall asleep in the buggy whilst on holiday so we could still go out to a bar in the evening whilst she was fast asleep in the buggy 👍no staying in with movies and take-away on holiday (that's what I do at home 😂)

I'm not talking getting trollied and dancing at night clubs obviously, but having a baby shouldn't stop you doing adult things in the evenings as long as the baby is happily sleeping in the buggy by your table

He will happily sleep in the buggy but transfer from buggy to bed is too risky. If he wakes up he'll be up for hours! We will try it though.

Scarborough has beautiful, pushchair friendly walks and lots of attractions suitable for toddlers (Sealife Centre, Alpamare waterpark , North Bay railway and Peasholm Park) as well as the beautiful blue flag North Bay beach and the more bustling South bay . We are 50 minutes by train or car to York for a city day out.

Happy hols, wherever you decide ☀️🌊.

We're just back from a caravan holiday at Sandy Bay Holiday Park in Northumberland. We have a 14 month old and almost 3 year old and it was perfect! You can access the beautiful beach directly from the site, there's a small softplay, a swimming pool and a playpark. We had a great time and the kids really enjoyed it.

Have a look at what is on offer on the Baby-Friendly boltholes website for ideas.

There are a few farms on there with holiday cottages (and chickens etc) that might appeal.
