Yes. Stayed there twice. It was great - v clean, big rooms, nice decor.

DoesItHaveKosovo · 17/05/2023 06:43

Stayed at both. The one near the Tate is a bit nicer.

I stay at the Tate Modern one quite often for work. It’s fine.

I've stayed at both several times each, the Tate one is way nicer and has Premier Plus rooms if you want to spend a bit more for a fridge.

Southwark station is the only PI (and I've stayed in a lot of PIs) where I've not slept well.

Thanks all. All booked and we’ve gone for 2 bedrooms for the first time. Me with DD and DH with DS.
Hope we can get neighbouring rooms!

I've stayed in the Travelodge Southwark and it was a pleasant stay for two nights. I was on the 4th or 5th floor and overlooked the railway line which didn't impact on my sleep at all. I had a view of the Shard.

The Tate one is a much nicer location. You're right on the river and Borough Market is just around the corner, plus loads of restaurants and bars.

Ah that’s great re Borough Market. I think the DCs will love it there.

Any recommendations for restaurants in that area?

My go-to places to eat around there are Honest Burger (on The Cut) and Nando's (opposite Southwark tube) as they're good for gluten free! There's Wagamamas nearby too, loads of places really.

I stayed in the Southwark one last month - it was really handy for Borough market, and my room had a great view of The Shard. I was on the fourth floor, well away from any noise, and I had a great night’s sleep. I love the Premier Inn beds!

There's a Nandos right next to the hotel, there's a Bill's in Clink Street and lots of places.im and around Borough Market. There's a Hawksmoor (best steak ever) and a fantastic tapas restaurant called Brindisa. There's also a pasta place called Padella that people queue up for.

The one I stayed in was the Southwark Borough High Street one. Near The Shard and London Bridge station. I passed an entrance to Borough Market on the way from the station to the hotel.
