Trying to find a nice country hotel for a family get together. Would like nice rooms including family rooms and somewhere that has great breakfasts and a lounge area where we can all gather to socialise. Thinking of either the Peak District or the Cotswolds but not set on anywhere in particular just want a nice place for our families to get together and enjoy some quality time together. Please share your recommendations as I’m tired of trawling the internet trying to find the right place. Mumsnet has always given me great suggestions of places to visit in the past so please share your recommendations 😊

I enjoyed Loose Hill in the Peak District.

A nice country inn with family rooms would also be suitable, if you have stayed at any gems. Ideally looking for something £200 per room per night or less 😊

Cotswold Water Park Hotel works well if you are a biggish group and the communal are is a good size and they do different size accommodation.

Just going to Google Loose Hill now. Thank you 😊

The Feathered Nest (half way between Cheltenham and Oxford) was nice but not too many bedrooms (4 possibly).

The best I have ever stayed in was The Bonnie Badger near Edinburgh, honestly worth the drive!

Loose Hill looks gorgeous but quite pricey. Going to look at the Cotswold one now. We are 8 adults (2 of which grandparents) and 6 well behaved children age 5-14.

Loose Hill is lovely though. Boxwood house is also great.

Working my way through all the suggestions so far.
We stopped https://www.whitebearmasham.co.uk/ a few years ago and it was fantastic. Ideally looking for something similar in a different location.

We are Midlands based so looking for somewhere within an hour to an hour and a half drive away. Would love to explore some of the Scottish suggestions but just too far to travel with the children for two days. Might take a short break with my immediate family to explore there

@raspberrytart Wiswell is pretty close to me, can’t wait for a trip there!

We stayed here, for both my 40th, then liked it so much we came back with the rest of my family for my mum's 70th. It was excellent. There's a family room for five, cottages, a large green space and nice pub food. A pleasant walk to Bourton on the Water too. The staff really looked after us.

The Cotford Hotel in Malvern is fab with fine dining but perhaps not great for young children
