Going to haggarston castle a week tomorrow. Any tips for thing to do nearby? Have 5 kids aged 8-4 months. Thanks

Visit Holy Island. Day out at Alnwick gardens.

There's stuff to do in haggerston castle too. My kids love the little owl place; I think they also do reptiles.

Oh and if you make it into Berwick there is a lovely Italian restaurant called Limoncellos and lots of nice bric-à-brac shops if that's your thing?

Alnwick Gardens would be good, arrive early and spend a few hours there. Then, as its so central, leave the car in their carpark and walk up Alnwick High Street. Pop into Barter Books. Amazing shop!

Also worth a drive out in Bamburgh. Lovely beach, can walk around the perimeter of the castle no need to go in, big Green behind it for picnics and iirc a set of swings etc. Get an ice cream too.

I love Alnmouth, that's my favourite. So I'd suggest driving down to the beachfront carpark, walk along the beach. Into the town for a coffee.
