Windsor Castle one-year pass

Hi, may I know to visit Windsor Castle, do you still need to book it even I have a one-year pass? Thank you!

I asked when I was there and they said to phone to book and say I had a pass

I once went without booking and had to wait a few hours so I’ve always booked in advance now. It does cost a few pounds but that’s for your whole party rather than each guest.
