My mate is going to Exeter for the weekend with her new man and wants somewhere really nice to stay. something a bit different as well as lovely would go down well. Something like a lighthouse that is now a hotel or something, or failing that just a really stoosh hotel.

Any ideas?

I don't think there is alot to choose from in Exeter itself. It is not overly endowed with lovely places to stay.

Your best bet is the Abode Exeter Royal Clarence - it overlooks the Cathedral Green which is nice and it has a Michael Caine restaurant which is also v nice. Rooms are big, beds are big, roll top baths. www.abodehotels.co.uk/exeter/

Does she have to be in the city itself? If not then there are some lovely, luxurious places in the surrounding countryside (30-40min drive?).

I've forwarded these to her, thanks so much.

No she doesn't have to be in teh city itself, they are happy to drive out.
