Heathrow to legoland

Any ideas on the best way to do this, I have just booke premier inn at heathrow, now debating if I should hire a car and drive the 400miles to heathrow, then have car to use throughout out stay, (will have to hire car so that is another £100) or should I fly, flights £259 for the 3 of us at the moment.

Minicab (20 minutes), or a couple of buses and very long walk up the hill (2 hours).

Looks like if I fly I will have to get a cab to the station everymorning, didn't realise it was so far. Unless I get a reallt good deal onflights I think it would wotk out best to hire a car.
