Where to stay in London for Finsbury park gig

My DH is taking DD15 and her friends to a concert in Finsbury park in the summer. I’m going to spend the day in London too, and find something to do with my other Dd 6 and DS 13. I’m thinking maybe a show, or possibly Chessington even (DS a bit old perhaps).

Has anyone got any pointers on which area would be convenient for us to stay overnight? I’m wondering if Finsbury Park is a good area to have as a base. We’ve done the major sightseeing places in the centre a few times now so happy to avoid that, but I do need something fun for us 3 non concert goers to do!

It’s got good transport and a few decent restaurants. There’s a premier inn and a travelodge which are
both pretty new.

There's a nice look travelodge opposite the park there. Seemed quite new and close to the tube (Manor Park)

Marvellous. Thank you both

Islington - Upper St or just off it.

I'd suggest Islington too.

For things to do, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre might be fun, they put on some child friendly productions, for example there is DInosaur World Live on
11 August 2023 - 03 September 2023 suitable for ages 3+. You could combine it with a visit to London Zoo, and a picnic in the park, all based in the same place without too much walking for little legs.

@robertsradio that sounds just up DS’ street, he’s an aspiring actor..and we’ve never made it to London Zoo. Thanks, I have the beginnings of a plan!
