Borrowing baby stuff

I need to get hold of a high chair and travel cot for a week as I've only just found out the Air Bnb I've booked in Aberdeenshire doesn't have either.
I'm thinking there's probably a website or an app or other community service where parents can borrow stuff like this. We can't take it in the plane and money is very tight.
We're taking the baby up from Brighton to visit his Great Granddad as it's becoming increasingly clear his GG will be unable to come down to Brighton to visit him.

Lots of councils have a ‘library of things’ that might help. Or does your family know any other families in the area who might lend you something? Or ask on Facebook?

But in solar circs I once just fed baby DD on my lap for a week. Messy but effective.

Thanks. We've tried friends and fam but no one is at the baby stage. Council library of things is a good shout though. And if not - wing it!

Are you flying into Aberdeen? all4kidsuk.com/baby-equipment-hire/aberdeenshire/aberdeen
There's also Tom Thumb baby hire if you're flying into Edinburgh.

How old is baby?

I would just co sleep with them for the week for convenience. They can fall asleep in pram and you move them after if easier.

Feed baby on towel sitting on floor for snack like stuff , and sit them on your lap or in pram strapped in if you need to spoon feed. Give them easier convenient foods for the week like yogurt in pouch, finger food banana/ fruit, cream cheese sandwich and spoon in some purée food or porridge.

Otherwise get this travel
cot delivered to air b and b, and leave it there ( you can probably make arrangements with owners). It’s probably just as cheap as hiring tbh as hire is £10-20 per day often.

Chicco do a foldable high chair for travel - it just sits on a normal dining chair.

MrsMiddleMother · 05/03/2023 04:40

As long as the pushchair lays flat then use that as a bed. I've used to the pushchair overnight more times than I can count, also use the pushchair as a highchair but if you can spare £20 you can buy a seat that attaches onto any originary dining chair, you could get it cheaper second hand. Folds down small perfect for plane and also has a large compartment underneath perfect for bibs, spoons, Wipes etc

Facebook marketplace for the area you're going to?

@Spidermama where abouts in Aberdeenshire are you going as options will be v different between Banff and actual Aberdeen!
