London

As well as a plan to visit Snowdon, I'd also like to do London with three teens.

As we're a family of 5, getting accommodation can be tricky.

Can anyone recommend places to stay and things to do? We did Madame Tussauds years ago and would like to go again. Anything else?

Thanks

Do you have a budget? That's important for recommending accommodation.

And how long are you planning to be in London?

How long do you plan to be here? Personally I don't understand why people bother with Madam Tussaud's. What's the value to seeing wax models of people in London? May as well be anywhere.

I like Dennis Severs house (dennissevershouse.co.uk) and a wander around Spitalfields and that area of London. Or a walk along south bank from Westminster bridge to the millennium bridge over to St Paul's.

I like the V&A but keep any museum visit short and sweet in my opinion rather than try and see everything.

What is your budget for accommodation?

We live near London and my DD's have enjoyed the following.

Shopping at Camden Market.
The Sky Garden - great views of London it's free but you do need to book in advance and it gets booked up quickly.
Junkyard Golf - but check times because U18's are only allowed in on certain days / times.

As for things to do - I’d get each of your teens to do some research and make a shortlist based on their particular interests. Then choose one of each - plus your own choices.

Agree Madame Tussauds is maybe not the best use of your time!

Are you non-UK resident? That might make a difference to what feels most necessary.

What kind of activities do you like to do, as a family @TeaCupFlower ? Are you interested in cultural things, so art galleries, museums, theatre, etc? Or are you interested in seeing the tourist sites, like the London Eye, Tower of London, the Shard etc?
