Luxury pub

DH & I want to have a night away without the kids. We usually stay in a hotel and get a deal for an overnight stay and meal but the last one we did was pricey and we didn't think very good value. Food wasn't up to much.
Thinking maybe a smaller local luxury pub type place might be more us. Just want decent food, beer & peace and quiet. Ideally within an hour of Manchester. Anybody got any good places they can share?

I've stayed here and it's really lovely.

Not sure what your budget is, but we stayed at a Pig Hotel and it was incredible. We did the Combe one, there are others but mostly south so not within an hour I'm afraid.
