I am trying to think of a nice playpark by the sea or overlooking the sea, any ideas please? Thanks so much.

Or even just one that's quite scenic!

Folkestone, I've not been but it looks great!

Do you mean free play area type of park? Martello Park in Felixstowe is great! Runs along next to the seafront and they've recently opened a lovely cafe.

Morecombe has some brilliant playparks

In Scarborough, there's a playground set into cliffs overlooking one of the beaches (the one without the arcades). It's quite small but kept our then 10 & 8yo entertained for half an hour whilst DH and I just admired the view. Due to its location, it's quite hidden and we only came across it by accident.
In Southsea, there's a massive playground a couple of minutes from the front.

Reculver.

But any playpark that looks over the sea tends to be like an arctic tundra even on the warmest of days

Newquay has a playground on Atlantic Road that overlooks Fistral beach and has big sea views.

Walton-on-the-Naze has one just across the road from the beach, next to the car park. A good sized one with plenty to keep them busy for half an hour or so.

Cudmore Grove country park on Mersea Island. I keep meaning to pay a visit.

Exmouth has a play park across the road from the beach.

Scarborough has one overlooking the North Bay, as already mentioned and also one by the Italian gardens on the south side . Both have stunning views 🌊.

Some of the best play parks by the sea for me have been in Scotland: crail, arbroath, and montrose stick out!

Bracelet Bay in Mumbles.
As long as you aren’t bothered by a bit of wind that is Grin

I was going to say Exmouth too. And there's a soft play and bowling alley next door.
