Dh and I are going to York this weekend - first break away in God knows how long. Driving up on Sunday - will probably get there about 4ish - staying in Hotel Du Vin and then leaving about 3 on Monday. So not long! Any ideas about things to do? (Apart from the obvious I mean ) Good places for dinner/lunch? Haven't been there for 25 years so memory a bit hazy.

Tuscany on Coney Street is a gorgeous Italian place. Hope you have a great time

Dh and i went for our anniversary - prebooked Norvik museum and found it a BIG disappointment (and i'm normally really into that sort of thing). However - the dungeons were fab (no - we are not 12!).

Fab greek restaurant in main square (sorry - can't name it) and lovely fish restaurant along main street. Sorry to be vague but that's all i remember .

We had a guided tour of the Minster too which we really enjoyed (depends on what you're into).

Enjoy! - i'm sure you will.

Sounds lovely - will seek out the fish place. We were considering eating in the hotel bistro on Sunday night- anyone been there? Will visit the Minster on Monday. Daren't do Jorvik as DS1 will be insanely jealous!

Fish Restaurant (just found it in old accounts) is called Miochaels Brassiere in Low Petergate - i'm sure you can google it.

Minster is fab!
