Looking for somewhere nice anywhere around the midlands area or slightly further afield to have a night away and take a toddler! Eek! Just want a change of scenery.

Ludlow? Nice castle, market, shops to wander around during the day, lovely countryside nearby, nice restaurants. Where are you travelling from?

gingerhamster · 11/01/2023 16:46

The Midlands covers a wide area. Does it need to be with certain distance of somewhere?

Drayton manor - stop in the Thomasland hotel! The toddler will love it!

Or stay in the centre of Birmingham and go to think tank

stickybear · 11/01/2023 17:17

Ah I missed the bit about the toddler! The Severn Valley Railway is good for kids but they might be a bit young for it?

America12 · 11/01/2023 17:19

Warwick ?
Stratford on Avon ?

iloveyankeecandle · 11/01/2023 17:36

We just live in the midlands so would rather be local ish so we're not travelling for ages. Just wanted somewhere different.

Boat rides
Lovely big play park near the river.

How about the caravan park on Cannock chase?

iloveyankeecandle · 11/01/2023 18:49

@Moonflower12 I literally just thought of Stratford! Good thinking. Haven't been for years and years!

Bourton on the water? There's Birdland, the miniature village and car museum

Lost123454 · 11/01/2023 18:59

Coombe Abbey

Great, new playground for young kids and close to Warwick, Leamington, Stratford

Mumof1andacat · 11/01/2023 18:59

Stratford-upon-Avon is lovely. Maybe warwick Castle

citybumpkin · 11/01/2023 19:05

Hatton Country World for the toddler (and you). Henley in Arden has some nice pubs.

iloveyankeecandle · 11/01/2023 19:18

Thank you all for your suggestions, I had not thought of any of these places!!

@citybumpkin
Hatton is a good call. Henley also has the lovely ice cream shop and some nice independent little shops.

With the Gruffalo Trail a short distance away. Our toddler great nephew loves that.
