Feb half term ideas please

I'm looking for inspiration for a trip 3-4 days with two DC age 10&11 in Feb half term.

I've never been away in mid winter Feb and feel a bit lost!

I'm midlands based but happy to drive and the kids will cope with longer journeys. Maybe not the furthest tip of Cornwall! Don't want to camp without DP so that's not an option. We like beaches, walking, hiking, general day trips parks/museums etc...

Please can you recommend ideas?
Thank you 🙏🏻

What about York? Quite a lot to do in the city itself then you could do some hiking in the dales.

Last time I went away in UK at Feb half term the weather was so bad the government asked people not to travel. So factor that in to your plans 😬

I'd do Liverpool for 2 nights then Alton Towers Hotel and waterpark stay on the way back.

@Yuja York is a good shout. I haven't been there before.

Anyway more constructively, I’d build it around their interests. Do they like theatre? What about Shakespeare stuff at Stratford upon Avon. Or history? Maybe Edinburgh?! For beaches / adventure sports maybe Wales?

Maybe just a nice ‘sports’ hotel in middle of nowhere with eg rock climbing and swimming pool?

But I would plan assuming that it will pour with cold rain, then anything else is a pleasant surprise.

@Oher Noooooooo! Ha. It's taken a lot for me to be doing a solo trip (for boring reasons I won't go in to) I'd be gutted if the weather was ridiculously bad. But I will head (heed?) this and get insurance!

@leccybill also a good shout. Haven't been to Liverpool for ages and the kids have never been

What are the kids interested in?

Or a holiday park Haven type place in North Wales

I took ds to Greenwich a couple of years ago. Loads to do and we had a great time.
