Looking for a suggestion for a hotel break in wales or nearby, would quite like to be by the sea but not at all essential. Good hotel more important. South Wales, good views, lovely service and meals on site. Any suggestions?

Tenby.
Google "Stay Pembrokeshire" for accommodation.
Tenby is a decent base for most of South pembs.

Tenby is lovely, also worth considering mumbles

Pembrokeshire is lovely. If you would like a small town vibe Newport in Pembrokeshire is beautiful. Friendly, has a beach lovely pubs and restaurants, lots of walks

St Brides Spa Hotel or Penally Abbey

Mumbles is beautiful. Some lovely guesthouses around.

Woeman · 28/12/2022 08:47

I was going to say St Brides in Saundersfoot.

Another vote for Penally Abbey near Tenby.

Crug Glas near St Davids. Amazing food and a 20 minute walk to the most beautiful part of the Wales Coastal Path, including the Blue Lagoon. Solva is close too which is just beautiful.

If you live in Pembrokeshire you would never advise Tenby being the best place to have a holiday!! St David’s is lovely with good restaurants and a good beach and a coastal shuttle if you need it. Also near the Blue Lagoon.
Newport Pembs is lovely, it is small with good pubs and cafes. It has a long beach and good access to coastal path. It is also close to the Preseli hills which are good for walking and horse riding.
we have great beaches, fab food and lots to do!

MinnieMountain · 29/12/2022 08:57

You would if you’d lived in south Pembs all your life like some of my relatives @mumonthehill .

Twr-y-Felin hotel in St David’s gets good reviews and it’s near a beautiful bay.

mumonthehill · 29/12/2022 17:50

@MinnieMountain yes I realised I was a bit down on Tenby!! But living in Pembs it is a place myself and most of my friends try to avoid in the summer! I personally much prefer newgale and then north up to Nevern. So many beautiful beaches and much less busy.

Haveagentlechristmas · 29/12/2022 17:58

Aberdyfi or aberystwyth if you want to go further north west

MinnieMountain · 29/12/2022 19:08

Don’t get me wrong @mumonthehill , I grew up in north Pembs and still prefer it, but the Tenby area is also popular for a reason.

Funf · 29/12/2022 19:21

The North and south are both different but great
