No because I imagine you would get charged for them.

ChessieFL · 15/12/2022 17:29

No, they’re not for taking.

HermioneWeasley · 15/12/2022 17:31

Oh that’s bad. I’ll take most things from a hotel and even I know the robes are off limits

BeyondMyWits · 15/12/2022 17:32

No, because that is stealing.

spuddel · 15/12/2022 17:33

No never, it's theft. I hope you lost your deposit.

iklboo · 15/12/2022 17:36

Check your bank account. You'll probably be charged for them. Why did you?

Duvetdweller · 15/12/2022 17:38

You’ll be charged against the card you left the details of

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 15/12/2022 17:38

‘Taken’ two? Nice language choice to evade the truth there!

’stolen’ is the word you want.

SheWoreYellow · 15/12/2022 17:39

They’re not a mini bottle of shampoo. Would you take pillows too? The duvet?

greenhousegal · 15/12/2022 17:39

They all have airtags sewn into the hems now. Knock Knock on the door soon.

Seems unlikely that every hotel bathrobe in the country has a very expensive AirTag in the hem, or that the police would have time for the "knock knock" on the door!

Gullible much?

MolesOnPoles · 15/12/2022 17:44

Obviously they won’t follow you up with an AirTag, but in a hotel o used to work at we would charge you card and it wasn’t cheap -£80 or something.

123woop · 15/12/2022 17:49

No - I have done this from a spa though. In my defence the staff told me they tend to bin them as it's cheaper than sending them to be washed! This was a long time ago though

Definitely not true. It's way cheaper to send them off to be washed with everything else than buy new ones.

SliceOfCakeCupOfTea · 15/12/2022 18:08

It's generally accepted that people take the things that they could consume IE toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits or things that are one use only or couldn't be shared ie shower caps, toothbrushes etc.

Things that can and will be reused including bedding, robes, curtains, TVs are not for taking.

I worked in hotels for years and it's amazing what people would try and take. I had someone who literally packed the Nespresso machine and kicked off when she was charged.

HairyMcLarie · 15/12/2022 18:10

I wouldn't worry. They'll just charge you for them. The price list would have been in your room and they are a crazy price.
Expect to see around £300 to £500 leave your account if you bought two.

Moonatics · 15/12/2022 18:16

Was it claridge's? They're £185 to buy from the shop, I dont know how much they charge if you steal them. Probably more.

Most hotels I've been in (well the nicer ones) sell their bathrobes at reception or in the shop, much better to buy them there than steal and get charged more.

brownbeauty80 · 15/12/2022 23:36

Whoopsie then....
Let's see what happens...

Not theft as they are offered for 'inclusive' use during a stay or offered to be taken for a cost.

They basically bought some used robes. For huge amounts of money.

Hope it was a decent hotel and they were branded so they can lord it around their own bathroom. Grin
