Heading for a weekend in blackpool. Never been. Looking forward to it.- so don't put a dampener on it please!! We are 4 adults.. we all like a drink and are just there for a catch up. Any must go to pubs we should check out? Nice restaurants you'd recommend? Or anything else fun?
We will look at the illuminations and there's some christmas market/ice rink type event on we will also check out. Just seeing if there's anything else we should try to get to.
Thanks!

I live nearby.
What kind of places do you like to drink at?

MarshaMelrose · 16/11/2022 18:57

It's definitely turned chillier Iover the past few days so make sure you bring hat and gloves and a good coat. It's bracing on Blackpool's prom!

Spoodee · 16/11/2022 18:58

I love Blackpool. Get well wrapped up, will be chilly!

Fish and chips on the prom is a must.

I really like the cheesy things like the pier rides, Ripley believe it or not, top of the tower etc

spanieleyes · 16/11/2022 19:02

I like the zoo🙊

@ofwarren we like "normal pubs," if you know what I mean. Live music is always a huge bonus. Not pretentious, not a complete rip off- friendly atmosphere. Some good pub food is always welcome- or a quiz even!
We will be checking out the wetherspoons because I feel it is my duty, where ever i go. And I did see a pub on one of the piers, I think it was called bloom- it looked lovely, but probably more of a summer venue!

@spoodee thank you. Love fish and chips at the seaside. I predumed the rides would be shut for the winter but maybe not!

The tower ballroom is always good! Love watching the dancers! There’s a really nice chip shop Papas on the front too x

Cafenero35 · 16/11/2022 19:09

There’s one right on the front called Soul Suite or something very similar to that. It’s decent in there, don’t know how old you are but it’s not full of kids. Motown, soul etc really lively, lots of dancing

Bloom is quite nice in the summer. Not much variety of drinks to be honest and the music can be really loud. It will be bracing down there of a night too.
There are three Wetherspoon, they are all decent but the Layton Raikes on Market Street, not far from the tower is probably the best. It has a nice roof top beer garden.

Bootleg Social on Topping Street is great if you like a live band, The Little Black Pug bar on Talbot Road near North Pier is very popular, as are all the bars in that area really.

There is a posh-ish bar (for Blackpool) on the sea side of the prom, near the comedy carpet called Beach House Bistro and bar. It tries to be a bit Ibiza but I quite like it. Food and drinks are nice, if a bit dear for Blackpool.

Bentleys chippy up by the Pleasure Beach is really good, we always go there for tea when we're there.

PeeJayDay · 16/11/2022 21:18

If it's this weekend then you won't get in the ballroom!! 💃

Moon22 · 26/11/2022 07:08

Thanks for all the tips.
We had a ball!! Great place.
(Though I will say Bloom was the worst gin bar I was ever in!)
