Hi all. I'm looking at a cottage to rent for February half term which looks perfect. It's near Newtown, mid wales and struggling if there's much around there to keep 3DDs (10-13) entertained please? TIA

I live fairly near there. Where abouts is the cottage? At Welshpool there is Powys Castle and a steam railway. Lake vyrnwy is lovely for a day out. However at that time of year your reliant on the weather. There's little to do in bad weather for kids that age, apart from the cinema in Newtown really. Depends how far you want to travel while your there.

Hafren Forest, source of the river Severn is beautiful and lots of walking although weather dependent.
You are are about 40-60mins from the beach, Aberystwyth
The Red Kite centre near Aber is lovely
About 1 hour from Shrewsbury, lots to do there.

The Centre for Alternative Technology is not far away.
