Going to Belfast for a long weekend soon for my 50tg. Me and 3 girlfriends. We've earmarked titanic museum (do we have to book?) plus an evening of karaoke at cuckoo. Fancy a taxi trip round the city and the murals as well. Any local mnetters got any must-dos? I'm a quarter Norn Irish tho Grannie was from Cookstownnso feel like this is an opportunity for some heritage as well as fun. Thanks!

You don’t need to book the titanic museum as far as I remember- it’s is slightly overrated though, we haven’t rushed back despite being fairly local.

I brought DH ace throwing for his birthday at Black Axe near the city centre, which was a great laugh.

I was at a Hen Party where we went to Cuckoo for the Karaoke a few weeks ago- it’s a very good set up and a private room so no one was subjected to our drunken warbling.

A drink in the Crown Bar is a must.

I'm just back from Belfast for a 50th birthday, we had nine in our group and had a ball.

We did one of the cycle buses (tacky but fun) had a delicious vegetarian/vegan tapas meal.
I would highly recommend a walking tour. We went with Arthur McGeee, his tour is called Belfast troubles tour-walls and bridges. It takes about 2.5 hours and was fascinating.
The crown was excellent and so was the Duke of York pub. There are loads of 'entries' in Belfast though with traditional pubs in them.
Also really enjoyed titanic experience.

Wish I'd known about the karaoke!

We did the titanic ticket that had a guided walking tour before you go round the "museum" bit which was well worth the money IMO. I enjoyed that more than the museum section which went on a bit long for me!
The HOHO bus tour is good, we did the one with a live guide and got 2 really interesting ones who told us about their experiences of growing up in the city too.
Crumlin Goal get good reviews from my friends (my flight was delayed so i missed it!).
The city hall has some exhibits in which are free to look round (they also have toilets and a cafe!)

DC walking tours (deadcentretours.com) are supposed to be good.

Where are you staying? Cuckoo isn't in the city centre.

Loads of good places to eat: Coppi, Edo, Yugo, Waterman, Deanes (£££). Merchant for a cocktail is a must.

If you haven't been yet.....Crumlin Road gaol is good fun, Titanic is good, I really enjoyed a free walking tour.

Cathedral quarter arts festival is on now to mid November. Ice hockey matches on at SSE arena.
