Bit run down, So many better beaches and resorts in Norfolk imo

We enjoyed it. It's not run down in old Hunstanton. My dc loved the prom with its arcades and funfairs. The sandy beach at old Hunstanton is lovely and I had to die for fish and chips.

Sheringham has more character as a town but a pebbly beach.

Sea Palling is lovely sandy beach with a cafe pub, public toilets and beachy shops plus a small arcade. It's nice round there and you can go to Horsey wind pump which is national trust and quintessential Norfolk broads.

I hear good things about Holkham but never been.

Norfolk is the best. Stay in a cottage with a pool. So relaxing.

Typical British seaside town. Arcades, fish and chips on the prom, donkey rides, fun fair and sealift centre as well as leisure centre with swimming pool. Things don't tend to stay open very late so you would need to rely on where you stay for evening entertainment. Definitely not 'upmarket' like some of the towns nearby (Burnham market etc) however they are a short drive away. Sandringham isn't far and a farm park is only a 15 minute drive in snettisham. Nice soft play at Heacham about 4 miles up the road if the weather goes tits up. Lots to see and do in the area if not in actual Hunstanton itself.
