We're going to spend the night in Cardiff at the end of the month. We're a family with teens. We've got soemthing we have to do one day and then we thougth we'd stay over and go to St. Fagan's

Would you recommend staying in the centre or the bay?

I was thinkning we could do the boring stuff the first day, stay in the bay and eat outt here then go to St. Fagan's the next day. The kids may want to go to see the city centre though.

Thanks!

Cardiff's a small city, it doesn't matter much where you stay.

The centre is slightly more convenient for St Fagans by bus and there's more to do there, the views are better in the Bay.

If you hire bikes, it's possible to cycle up the Ely Trail to St Fagans from the Bay which might be good with teens and you then get free entry.

You can also catch a water bus from Bute Park in the centre to the Bay and vice versa.

Thank you. That's very helpful.

Hi - it's really not far from the city centre to the bay and there is a train from Queen st that runs to the bay pretty regularly so it doesn't hugely matter where you decide to stay. It's a compact city with some nice shops and little arcades to explore, loads of restaurants (mill lane is buzzing with outdoor dining on a sunny day). St Fagans is a fair bit away from the city centre but really good and
reasonably priced.
Also check what is on at the stadium as this might hugely affect hotel prices and restaurant availability. A big concert or sporting event can really make it hard to book anything!

Thank you. I've gone for the bay. I got two rooms at the Premier Inn for £85 so I'm happy.

That's a great deal, enjoy it. 😀**
