Off to croyde this week. In a caravan which fingers crossed won't be too grim. Any local restuarant recommendations, things to do apart from beach ? Two teens in tow, single mum. 🙄

You can get high-speed RIB rides and more sedate wildlife cruises from Ilfracombe.
Glen Lyn Gorge has some lovely woodland walks by the waterfalls. Ideal spot to bring a picnic and sit beside the river. Also the Power of Water exhibition is quite interactive.
Cycling the Tarka trail is a nice day out if the weather isn’t too hot. tarkatrail.org.uk/plan-your-visit/cycle-hire/
If the weather takes a turn for the worst, then Darlington Crystal and Tarka Pottery both do hands-on experiences.
For places to eat, I’d recommend Blue Groove, The Thatch (very popular for Sunday roast), Biffen’s Kitchen (take away only) and The Old Cream Shop.

Thanks for asking, @Signoramarella, as we're heading to Croyde at the end of the summer holidays.

One of my colleagues used to live there, and she recommended rock pooling, so my littlies will enjoy that. We also once found fossils on the beach by Appledore.

The beach cafe at Downend is very good, delicious Sri Lankan curries. You can get take away or they have outside tables.

Billy Bud's in Croyde is nice for basic pub grub & plus points for childrens play area out back with tables.
Head up the coast slightly to Putsborough Beach - fab beach, cafe & toilets!
The cafe attached to the NT car park at Baggy Point is nice too - think it's called the Sand Piper? The walk around Baggy Point is lovely.
