Significant Birthday Ideas

My partner has a significant birthday in December. I'd like to do something special on the day or a special break away for that time. But I don't want anything festive!! I'll probably end up with a short city break which will be fine and fun and I'll research some good places to go. But if anyone has any other brilliant ideas please let me know! TIA.

What sort of thing would your partner enjoy doing?

Centre Parcs?

I just don't know. We quite like just fun things like visits to gin distilleries, cocktail making, food tours (we're not adrenaline junkies!). Just something different. I thought about a luxury train journey but they are so expensive. Just looking for something completely different.

The day trip on Orient Express from Victoria is lovely, includes lunch

The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath is very luxurious (for a meal or short stay)

Any of the Tom Kerridge restaurants I've been to have been very special

Rick Stein often offer great value 2 or 3 night breaks in winter with meals included at the Seafood restaurant or Bistro (both lovely)

you can stay on a luxury yacht in Edinburgh (might be too expensive?) www.fingal.co.uk/
If you're anywhere near London you could get the sleeper train up to Scotland. It's not cheap but it's an experience.

I think I once saw an activity where you can make your own scent.

@Defiantlynot41 Thank you. I've actually done one of those day trips (and agree amazing) but not with DP. It is at the back of my mind.

Bath and Edinburgh are both on my list of possibles for a break away so thank you for your ideas @emmathedilemma . I didn't know about the yacht so will check that out and also the train.

He's not a great foodie (unlike me) but I'll also look up the Rick Stein places. Thank you.
