Good choice for a beach holiday with 3 young children? What are the amenities like? Cafes/restaurants?

Although it's a small town, it’s got a lot going for it. We took the dc to The Plas Restaurant which was very friendly and had a kids menu. The beach itself has stunning views, deep sand dunes but jelly fish. Mass expanse so never felt busy. Paid parking is a few minutes walk from the beach. Would depend on the individual and what you're carrying but we took around 10 mins to do the walk, but we were burdened with lots of bits, toys etc. Toilets at the car park.

@Fivemoreminutes1 Thanks. What is the walk like from the car park? Steep? The beach looks lovely but we'll definitely be burdened with a lot for our 3. Our twins are 20 months so not the quickest walkers either 🤦

The walk from the car park is about 400m between the dunes (so it’s quite hilly). It’s not really possible with a buggy. One of the dunes was quite steep and at times the sand is deep and soft.

Barmouth is a lot easier.

Whilst I like it I also feel Barmouth has a lot more to offer locally.
You can park next to the beach and toilets etc
Harlech is worth a day trip as is Criccieth and Llanbedrog a short drive to the Llyn Peninsular
Criccieth you can park on the sea front

www.visitwales.com/destinations/north-wales/things-do-and-around-criccieth
llanbedrog is a short easy walk from the National trust car park

The whole area is really nice. It all depends what you want.
But
Have you considered the Llandudno area?
Lots to see and do even if the weather is bad, some excellent beaches but in general towns are bigger and busier.

What sort of accommodation? Some of the Caravan parks have a lot going on if the weather is bad, but the area around the Llyn Peninsular usually has the best local weather

Aberdovey is another option to consider.
