Gatwick next Thursday

Hi all,

We're arriving at Gatwick next Thursday after a 31 hour flight (!!!) from New Zealand with our 7 and 9 year old. I've just found out that there's likely to be a rail strike and the Gatwick Express is signalling delays should be anticipated...

We're looking at a private transfer, so that we don't have to faff around with sleep-deprived kids. Connecto is miles cheaper than anyone else, but that makes me nervous! Has anyone used them before, or have any other recommendations? We are heading into central London from the airport.

Also, would 1.5 hours from landing seem about right to schedule a pick-up?

We land at 12:30 from Dubai, if that makes a difference...

It might be cheaper to get a hotel and then travel on the next day. Redhill has a new travel lodge in the town center.
no National Express buses into London?

I guess that I'm not as worried about the expense as the convenience: after a flight like that, we're just going to want to be in our Air BnB with the minimum of hassle, so I'm happy to pay for a transfer.

Was more wondering whether anyone has used Connecto and found them reliable...

I don't know about Connecto, but re what time to schedule it, I think normally you tell the company your arrival time and flight number and they work out how long they think you will take to get through the airport.
