Hi!! we’re due to visit legoland next week & I was wondering if the food there for kids/adults is any good? Or would you recommend taking sandwiches?

We have been a few times and haven’t been that impressed with the food it’s standard fast food type things burgers, nuggets etc but everything had this weird chemical smell ( even the ice cream ). It’s also really expensive and a bit of a bun fight with nowhere to sit and lots of queuing around lunchtime even on a weekday . We have taken our own food too but found it best to eat near the start of the visit if possible so you don’t have to lug a cooler bag around with you. The park is very big. I think they might do lockers though somewhere. We loved it apart from the food.

We always take our own. Food there is expensive and not great.

MumzeeSaz · 13/06/2022 15:28

Yes, we always take our own food too (I don't think the food is great and it's expensive) and plenty of snacks to keep them going in the queues!

We've been to Legoland a few times and usually have lunch in the pizza/pasta buffet. It is quite expensive for what it is but we enjoy it and it's nice to have a sit down inside to eat and also nice not to have to carry lunch around all day.
However, by many Mumsnet standards I am a pleb so feel free to ignore my opinion Smile

It’s overpriced and if you’re going in peak time and eating at a normal meal time, there will be long queues.
Take sandwiches and eat them whilst in a queue or waiting for a show to start! Saves time. If you need to sit down, Miniland has a picnic area and also in Adventure Land there are places to sit.
If it’s a hot day and you’re going to be drinking lots consider buying one of the refillable ice drink cups (they last for a year afterwards and you pay much less per drink, especially if you share it between you all). Otherwise take one of these and fill up your bottles from one of the water fountains (usually located near the toilets).

Thank you for all the advise. I think it’s best to take sandwiches from home & that way we know it’s something we all enjoy. We are taking a pushchair along for our youngest so can luckily put a cool bag with food/drinks in the storage basket instead of having to carry it around.

I agree that sandwiches are a good idea. You can also save time by eating them in the queue! It annoyed me paying loads to queue up for rides, and then paying extra to queue up for mediocre food. And then wasting valuable time sitting down eating when you might as well be waiting for a ride! I did get a bit obsessed with trying to do as much as possible though, and it was covid-y when we went, so there were limited food options then.

Mumofoneandanotherontheway · 15/06/2022 19:17

Thank you camelfinger. Even though I’m obsessing right now & telling the kids we have to fit as much in, anyone would think I’m more excited than the kids 😂will definitely be doing sandwiches, we’re off there tomorrow so let’s see how it goes.

Mumofoneandanotherontheway · 16/06/2022 20:27

OMG you must have melted today! Hope it was good.

tonystarksrighthand · 17/06/2022 17:49

Horrible expensive shit

Mumofoneandanotherontheway · 17/06/2022 19:12

It was amazing!! Hot & sticky though, but kids enjoyed it! We took sandwiches with lots of those ice blocks in a cool bag & they kept cold. We ended up going to 13 different rides - some twice & the additional water park they have in duplo area. Qs we’re horrendous but luckily we had access pass for rides. Overall a good expensive but tooo hot 🥵
