Nice London hotels

Planning to take my dad to London for his 75th. He’s quite a cool 75, so nothing too old fashioned. I’d like to find a nice hotel for us to stay in, around £300 per room per night. Seacontainers looks like it would fit in budget, but not sure if it’s worth it. Hilton Doubletree Tower of London is well within budget, but any other ideas welcome. Looking Westend/ Farringdon/ City/ Waterloo-ish area

The Bloomsbury on Russell Street is very nice. They have an afternoon tea and the lovely Coral Bar.

Have you tried Mr & Mrs Smith - they do some lovely boutique hotels?

It's in the city (finsbury square ) but I just went to Montcalm Royal London House. It has a pool and a rooftop bar terrace with fantastic views.

The Rosewood in Holborn is lovely or Club Quarters in Lincolns Inn which we always stay at, it has a terrace to sit out in.

Thank you, I’ll have a look, Dad used to stay in Club Quarters when he was working in London before he retired, that might be a good shout

I like the sound of the Montcalm too

I liked the Z Hotel in Soho. The rooms are small though. They did, maybe still do, a feee wine and cheese evening if you were a guest too.

Treehouse Hotel in Langham Place

Citizen M near Tower Bridge is good
Cute & ( small ) quirky bedrooms , good spacious public area down stairs , fab roof top bar, very near tube station

I was just coming onto suggest the treehouse hotel as well. Stayed there a couple of weeks ago, it's really central and quite cool and trendy. Reception on the ninth floor and a rooftop bar on the 15th. Very friendly casual vibe though and not so trendy that 50 something-year-old me felt out of place!
