Has anyone know the Roman sites at Corbridge, Vindolanda and Housesteads? Any comments on the best one to visit with an 11 and 13 yr old?
We're driving past Newcastle, and planning a diversion, but probably only an hour or 2 rather than all day.
Cheers

I've not been to Corbridge but went to both Vindolanda and housesteads as a teen and circa 20yrs later as an adult. Vindolanda is my personal favourite and I think its still an active archeology site. There's plenty to see both inside the museum and outside walking the site to kill an hour or two. I found the sheer variety of artefacts recovered and on display at vindolanda and the insight into ordinary roman life warts and all fascinating. Seem to remember the tea rooms veing rather decent as well.
