Nottingham recommendations please

Going this Friday morning with SIL, on the train and coming home later Saturday (AirBnB).

So need recommendations please for Friday : shopping, cocktails etc, dinner?
Saturday: breakfast brunch … more shopping before the train.

Or any other must do things?

We know Nottingham from student age but this is a revisit (early 50s) 😅 No Rick City please 🥹

Iberico world tapas or Bar Iberico.
Tilt is good for a cocktail (they have a happy hour).

Pitcher and Piano nice for a drink.
Nottingham Contemporary cafe for a coffee.

Fat cats 2-4-1 cocktails, penny lane, magic garden, das kino if you want to pay full price for cocktails. Definitely Bar iberico for lunch. For dinner, Paris, Pelican Club, Petis Paris, Mem Saab if you like Indian. Sexy Mama for Italian. Breakfast/brunch anywhere in hockley. Shopping has gone downhill a bit to be honest, there’s a John Lewis & lots of other high street brands, but lots of the independent shops have gone. The castle has been refurbished but I’m not sure it’s worth £13 a ticket.

Annie's burger shack is great, relaxed atmosphere and great burgers. Cosy Club nice for cocktails.

Another vote for Bar Iberico for food!

And Pelican Club for cocktails, or brunch.

If you stick to the Hockley and Lace Market area it's got everything from more cool quirky places and the more sophisticated spots

Mmm I LOVE bar iberico for tapas. We go to Nottingham twice a year and always go there… There’s a delicious curry place too but I need to look up the name- we stay at the belfry and it’s awesome if you ever need a hotel and spa!

There’s a nice place that has ping pong tables at the bottom that has delicious cocktails! Also need to google the name. Sorry!

Agree with Nottingham contemporary and Annie's. Small food bakery is worth a short walk for yummyness - find the Park tunnel and eat in the posh/mad enclave.

Worth getting the tram or bus for a wander around the university campus and lake/taking a boat out. The caves are fun everywhere - residents have done for more than one King or VIP by popping up from the cave system. It's clichéd but go for a drink in the Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem and watch for bits of the cave ceiling falling into it.

Cumin! If you fancy a delicious curry definitely check out cumin, it’s on maid Marian way so near loads of other stuff if not

I second Cumin, Ye Olde Trip and the Contemporary. I'd shop in John Lewis, Handmade Nottingham, 5 Leaves bookshop. I'd also go to Void (goth clothes) and Pit and Pendulum bar but they're not to everyone's taste. Finally I'd visit the Castle (not really a castle, more a museum & gallery) - yes it's £13 to get in but there's plenty to see, the grounds are great to sit in on a sunny day, the view from the upper cafe is cool and the food is really good. The current temporary exhibition "The Female Gaze" is excellent.
