Has anyone been to Moonfleet Manor, near Weymouth lately? I'm thinking of booking four nights there in August, but Tripadvisor seems to have mixed reviews.

I've not been for years. At that point the hotel itself was a nice old manor house, but the play areas and pool were in a dreadful condition. Neglected, would be a polite way to put it.

It should have just reopened after a big refurbishment of the rooms - are you reading recent reviews?:

Went pre-refurb and it was beyond tatty. Changing rooms and pool were mouldy with chipped tiles, the play areas were dirty and smelt, the main hotel was just dusty and falling to bits.

We’re also going in August - didn’t think to check if we were in a refurbished room 😬
