£1,300pp girls trip - what would you do?

We have £1,300 per person to spend on a girls trip- happy to top up a little.

There will be 4 or 5 of us, we could do a long weekend or up to 5 nights I'd say.

One of the girls London based, others in North East so ideally somewhere in the middle of the country or somewhere we could fly to for the outliers (eg Southampton, Glasgow)

We are not "outdoorsy" we are looking more for a bit of a relax, some pampering or luxury, happy to do some sightseeing but effectively want to treat ourselves.

What would you do with that budget with your group of female friends?

The Gainsborough in Bath. It has a large spa with the same water supply as the Roman baths. Amazing food.

It is in the town centre, so there is lots to do within walking distance.

Go on a cruise. For that money you would get at least a 7 day cruise with drinks included on princess cruises.

SooopDragon · 17/04/2022 20:06

TBH I’d go to New York, but I appreciate you might not want to travel that far or factor in jet lag

44PumpLane · 17/04/2022 20:13

SooopDragon NYC is a consideration but one of the group doesn't travel well, so we want to come up with some options that woiod include her and then if she decides not to come we may do the NYC or Cruise options.

I'd go to the countryside, somewhere like here, something for everyone.

Grantley Hall
Rudding Park

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/04/2022 20:24

What do you like to do to relax? Notable spas in Scotland include Blytheswood in Glasgow, Crieff Hydro (Perthshire), Old Course (St Andrews), Stobo castle (Peebles), Portavadie Marina (Loch Fyne) . Generally in all but Glasgow the other things to do are outdoorsy eg hiking, Segway, biking

New York for sure. You cld go premium
Economy at least for that!

KeyErro · 17/04/2022 20:35

Agree with cumonilean you'd have an amazing stay at Grantley Hall or Rudding Park and those are manageable from both London and NE.

I'd go to Taormina in Sicily it's not far to fly, good weather and perfect for a girls holiday.

SalsaLove · 17/04/2022 20:48

I’d rent a cabin on the south coast of Wales. Bring in food, drink, bbq, and walks down to the beach. Board games and ice cream.

Hmm. They aren't outdoorsy and want luxury abs pampering. Not really walking in Wales
44PumpLane · 17/04/2022 20:54

Thanks for all suggestions so far, I will be compiling and sharing with the group to get the ball rolling.

I like the cabin or nice hotel suggestions with spa action. Maybe a wander round a local attraction.

When I say we aren't outdoorsy I just mean that some of the group wouldn't manage a hiking outting but we would all manage a potter through some woods for example :)

wheresmyshoe · 17/04/2022 21:08

Another vote for Rudding Park, Harrogate is lovely if you preferred to stay there and day spa.

Kite22 · 17/04/2022 21:09

Stratford ?
York?
Chester?
Liverpool?

Housetreecar · 17/04/2022 21:14

Any of the IKOS resorts off peak. Seriously, wales with a budget of £1300 pp. why?

Ikos is pure luxury, you won’t need to spend another penny and it’s ultra all inclusive proper 5*
