Norfolk or Bournemouth

Hi all

Baby arriving this year and not too long to go now. We were planning to book a weekend away together in the UKbefore the little one arrives. Nothing too crazy or expensive. We were thinking of Norfolk or Bournemouth as we haven't been to either and fancy being by the coast. Both are fine in terms of distance.

Which would you go for?

Both lovely I've lived in each one.
Norfolk is pretty big so you might want to decide on particular place to make a comparison. For example Great Yarmouth v Bournemouth - Bournemouth hands down!

I lived in Bournemouth for 20 years and still love it. Gorgeous beach, nice restaurants. Never been to Norfolk so can't comment on there but you'll have a lovely time in Bournemouth

I would add both Bournemouth and Holkham are great places to visit with a baby.

Sorry Norfolk not Holkham

It depends what you want. For open skies, big beaches, great country pubs, nice little shops and a cold wind, North Norfolk is perfect.

Lots to see and do, and a milder, wetter climate in Bournemouth. Prettier countryside, smaller beaches.

I like both, but Norfolk is where I feel most like me.

i've visited one a lot and lived in the other. Bournemouth isnt especially wet and would be my choice. Norfolk is too flat which makes it look very boring. Are you travelling by train or car? Christchurch, new forest, swanage, poole harbour are locations u can visit near bournemouth if u have a car. one warning.....there are massive roadworks all summer near ringwood - so dont travel at peak tourist time in the summer
