London for work

I am due to go to London for work 1 day a week the rest of the days I work from home. I take the same laptop I use at home and travel to London to the excat same job I do at home. 1 week it's just me another week 1 other as there is only 3 people in our office in the UK rest work abroad.

I am 13 almost 14 weeks pregnant and I went to London 2 weeks ago and I had bad motion sickness due to the train for at least 3 days. I felt so rough. Today I am going again and I've only walked up the steps at the station with my laptop and bag and I am knackered! Not only that I have a 1 year old at home so been up most of the night. I'm in 2 minds to ask if I can only go in the day the other bloke goes in!! Any tips?

Why not ask. Going in seems pretty pointless in those circumstances. You might also want to get your iron levels checked.

Commuting is definitely exhausting. Luckily you are at the stage of pregnancy where you have a very good chance of feeling better soon. Everyone is different of course but for me the first trimester is always by far the worst and I’ve heard that from other people too. Make sure when you are on the train that you sit in a forward facing seat and don’t try to read or look at your phone even for a few minutes. Bring a cold drink, mints or ginger sweets and something carby like a bagel or crackers, with a bit of protein like peanut butter or cheese if you can handle it. If one day of commuting leaves you sick for three days

Of course if your company doesn’t mind you going in less frequently then you don’t have to deal with any of it. It sounds like your location has zero effect on your job anyway.

To be honest, I'm not sure they can do much to refuse a request on that basis. Providing you can still get the job done. It sounds like a reasonable adjustment to me.
