Anywhere central to either aim for or definitely avoid for a few friends having a meal before the theatre at the weekend?

We don’t mind which cuisine as long as it’s good, mid-range budget and relaxed.

What do you call mid range budget?

Wagamama is just across the road.

Turtle Bay?

We visit our DS at Nottingham Trent Uni and love the food at the Castle Pub, good value and delicious pizzas.

Browns if it's the Playhouse. Copper, Bills or Alchemist if it's the Theatre Royal.

Petit Paris do a lovely pre-theatre set menu, very reasonable and amazing food.

Cocotang, great Vietnamese food and fantastic cocktails.

Bar iberico , Iberico, Mesa in Hockley or some great curry place on Maid Marian way, my favourite is Calcutta club

They would both be nicer than Turtle Bay I think. One is pasta and one is small plates.
